
The Mojave desert located 100 or so miles from Los Angeles was one of the first proving grounds in drag racing. The dry lake beds proved to be the best way to go 100 miles an hour and not have to worry about causing any trouble. Gearheads would come from all around to get a taste of this new phenomenon. Ed Iskenderian or “The Camfather” as he his known, has been one of the most influential figures in the world of hot rodding. Ed was one of the innovators of cams and got to work with such racers as Garlits and Karamesines.
