What’s G.M. Been Up to So Far In 2017?

General Motors is on the radar of the American public, and the world, so far in 2017. Cadillac appears to be doing better than it has in years and Chevrolet has some of their own new products to boast over. That’s good news for the automotive manufacturer, who has been working overtime to bring its most current round of technological advancements and vehicles to its buyers. Hearing good news from the American automotive industry is an excellent way to start the year off. What is it, though, that G.M. has up their sleeves for the 2017 fiscal year? Well, that’s what we’re here to discuss today, although not in its entirety. There’s so much happening that we’ll only be able to scratch the surface in this article.

G.M., Ford and Chrysler have all been rolling out some pretty cool new vehicles, don’t you think? Have any of you seen the new Camaro ZL1 or the AWD Dodge Challenger? Mike Aguilar wrote up a neat piece on the AWD Challenger back in December if you haven’t gotten a chance to read about the car. If you haven’t, my goodness, they’re sweet. Investing in the future and planning ahead in order to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of automotive production seems to be of the utmost importance to our beloved big three, and that’s a good thing.

Today, we’ll focus our attention on what General Motors has on the horizon. We’ll show you a few new models and talk about what the manufacturer thinks their future will hold. We’ll also discuss how well their various nameplates are doing on the sales floor.

Are you looking to purchase a new vehicle that gets further on one tank of gas than any other non-hybrid vehicle on the market? Then look no further than the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. Chevrolet is very proud of their achievement.

"We know there are customers looking for the right combination of fuel efficiency, driving dynamics, fuel type and more. With the EPA-estimated 52-mpg highway Cruze Diesel Sedan, they can get it all."

General Motors has reinvented the midsize truck market with its Chevrolet Colorado. It's a capable truck that suits the needs of many buyers all over the globe. So what makes good even better? How about a ZR2 version?

“ZR2 is truly a segment of one and does everything well — from traversing heavy two-track trails to high-speed desert running and full-on rock crawling," said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director. "We’re thrilled to be able to offer it for more than $2,500 less than the next closest comparable vehicles. Taken in the context of serious off-roading, $2,000 will buy you 50 years of annual passes to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah."

Cadillac is on fire lately and has been steadily increasing their sales over the past several months. If you didn’t know that about General Motors' most luxurious nameplate, it might be time to head out to the dealership and take a look for yourself. The new Cadillac STS is certainly awesome.

Honda and G.M., G.M. and Honda? No matter what order you say that in, it doesn’t seem to fit, does it? Well, that’s not what the brass at General Motors and Honda believe. Honda and G.M. have decided to join forces and develop together the first mass-produced advanced hydrogen fuel cell system to be used in future products from each company. That’s certainly some exciting news!

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is bad to the bone, wouldn’t you say? Muscle car fanatics have been waiting for the ZL1 Camaro to be built since the introduction of the revised Camaro. Smaller, faster and more powerful are just a few advantages the new hot rod has to offer.

“This test caps an impressive list of performance stats for the Camaro ZL1, which was designed to excel at everything,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “It’s the most capable — and fastest — Camaro ever.”
