The Performance Racing Industry expands its new membership program by opening it up to individuals.

On July 13, 2021, the Performance Racing Industry will open its recently launched membership program, initially available only to businesses, to individual racers and enthusiasts as part of PRI’s continuing efforts to protect and grow the industry.

“Now more than ever it is critical that the racing community unite to protect our businesses and racing rights,” said PRI President Dr. Jamie Meyer. “PRI’s Membership program now allows individuals to join the movement to push back against challenges facing our industry and continue to support motorsports.”

Prior to this, PRI hosted its yearly tradeshow in Indianapolis in December, an event that was central to the industry’s growth and momentum. In addition, the PRI print magazine, digital newsletters, jobs board and strong website connect the race and performance community with the latest news, trends, legislation and highlights.

With the membership program, offered first to PRI Trade Show exhibitors in March, the organization will be able to harness the power of the enthusiast community in a more centralized fashion than even parent organization SEMA can provide.  Membership dues will support a number of efforts, including legislative racing advocacy on state and federal levels with a newly formed political action committee.

Since March, more than 300 businesses have joined, and many have become PRI Founding Members by committing to 10 years of support.  With a Pro Membership, starting at $40 a year, individuals can both support PRI’s political efforts on behalf of racers by providing inclusion in the Performance Racing PAC, and also receive a suite of benefits including entrance to the PRI Trade show, merchandise discounts, a subscription to the PRI Magazine’s digital edition and more.

PRI has launched a number of initiatives in the past few years as Dr. Jamie Meyer took over the leadership reins, including the PRI Road Tour and PRI Ambassador Program to help keep racing and performance front and center.

“We’re continuously identifying ways to support the interests of the racing community,” said Meyer. “The membership program enables us to continue our advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, and provide the industry with legal support, education, research, and world-class events and programs.

“The racing industry is joining forces like never before, and we invite everyone — racers, enthusiasts, builders, track operators, sanctioning bodies, and businesses – to be a part of this movement,” said Meyer. “This is the time to come together and unite.”

Enrollment in PRI Membership will launch alongside attendee registration for the 2021 PRI Show. For more information, visit PerformanceRacing.com.
