Lucas Oil MLRA Late Season Schedule Amendments

Lucas Oil MLRA officials recently made some schedule changes to the remaining dates on the 2014 schedule. Series and track officials from both Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas and Outlaw Motorsports Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma have mutually agreed to forgo their scheduled dates.

Thunder Hill Speedway was scheduled for Saturday, August 23. The series worked to find a companion race for that date on Friday, August 22 and nothing emerged. Outlaw Motorsports Park had a two day race booked for September 19 and 20.

“We really take a hard look at putting two dates together for every race weekend,” commented Race Director Ernie Leftwich. “We aren’t always able to do that, but for some of our dates it’s a must. We hate to lose our second date at Thunder Hill, but it’s really in the best interest of all involved. Outlaw is a new ownership group for us to work with, and we had a couple of outstanding races there back in May. They have had a lot of big events this season, and it just wasn’t in the cards for us to race there again this year.”

The Lucas Oil MLRA is very much looking forward to returning to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska, August 8 and 9. The annual King of the Hill Late Model Shootout is always a fan favorite, and draws the top competitors across the Midwest to the Friesen family’s beautiful facility.
