Mazda has been serious about its sports car racing for quite a while.
Racing featuring two-seated sports cars with enclosed wheels. Often run by marques like Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lotus, Maserati, Lancia, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, but can also include American brands General Motors/Chevrolet, Pontiac and Ford. 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of LeMans and 24 Hours of Daytona are famous sports car races. The Rolex Series, the SCCA World Challenge, and the Trans Am series are also sports car road race series.

The Spec MX-5 Challenge is a series where third generation Mazda Miata’s duke it out for driver glory, has now opened to Touring 4 cars. Along with that, the series has also created shootouts where drivers can earn a new race car to reward their efforts at the end of the season.
The end of February 2019 was the 75th Anniversary of the day seven car enthusiasts got together in the Boston, Mass home of Chapin Wallour. These men wanted to form an auto club dedicated to a relatively new type of car many were calling the “sports car.”
