Mark Varner, a true "car guy" if there ever was one, came across this unique '63 Nova while browsing for-sale listings one day. Initially put off by its six-cylinder powerplant, he decided to take a closer look thanks to the encouragement of Debbie, his wife. Upon inspecting the car in person, he noticed a few highly unusual features.
The car's firewall had been "ball-peened" for distributor clearance at some point, and it sported a Turbo 400 transmission and 12-bolt rear end. What in the world was going on with this car? Chevy didn't offer a V-8 Nova until '64, and even then it didn't come with the components sitting in this Blue-Flame 250 cu in. powered machine.
Mark asked the dealer about the car's past, but didn't receive any useful information. He'd certainly like to know more about this strange cruiser, and hopes that one day he'll discover some of its lost history. If you're also interested in this cool Nova, check out Gary Rosier's full article on it over on Hot Rod Hotline!
