This video was put together to showcase many of the cars that make up this annual event. While the show does have other venues, like a car corral (1200+ cars for sale), vendors and a swap meet, it’s all about the cars, I feel. I wanted to showcase just a few random photos of some of these cool rides!
Started about 1974 with about 45 cars in attendance, the Turkey Run has now grown to include over 5,000 cars of all types. Its annual shows (it has two, in the spring and the fall) take place every year at the World Famous Daytona International Speedway’s infield in Daytona Beach, Fla.
I was lucky enough to be able to attend and take the photos you’ll see here. A shame that this video is limited to about 100, as there are so many more cars and hot rods of all types to see. And not only cars are present, but many arts and crafts booths as well as bands playing, food vendors galore and many different TV guests and personalities to take in!
You owe it to yourself to come check this out – it’s got to be a “bucket list” item for any gear-head/automotive enthusiast!
I was there in 2010 and 2012 when we were wintering as CDN Snow Birds. Would like to go back again but not likely.
