One of the winningest names in the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series was back on top this weekend at Fairbury Speedway.
While “The Rocket” Brandon Sheppard did what he could to earn his first championship this weekend, after wracking up his 13th win on Friday night/Saturday afternoon, a third-place finish for Mike Marlar would catapult the points leader into a knock down drag out fight for the 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series championship on Saturday night.
On a cool fall night, a long-awaited dream came true for a former World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series Champion.
Due to heavy overnight and morning rain on both Friday night and Saturday morning caused flooding in and around this track, series officials decided to cancel this event and allow its competitors to prepare for the upcoming World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway Nov. 2-4.
