It took him 26 years and six runner-up disappointments before Doug Kalitta finally became an NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Top Fuel champion.
The last time Pro Stock was a full-time class in NHRA professional racing was in 2018. Since 2019, Pro Stock (cars) have competed for either 16 or 18 races, rather than the full 21 contests allotted to Top Fuel and Funny Car.

When Erica Enders first started her Pro Stock career, she had very little outside backing from companies. For much of her first five championship NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series seasons, her primary support has come from Melling companies, whose logos have adorned her red Chevrolet Camaro prepped and serviced by Elite Motorsports.
Although the NHRA’s Camping World Drag Racing Series has had some short fields over the past few years, due to economics as much as the pandemic, interest in the sport of drag racing and, in particular, Top Fuel is increasing.
