We bring you something different than our regular pinup for this week's Mitzi's Motor Maven -- a celebration of off-road racer Megan Mitchell who recently won an Impact Award from the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Megan has always loved being behind the wheel of a car. She started racing at the age of 10 in 2013. She turned 19 in September, 2022. It started with a pink Barbie Jeep at 3 years old, then any chance she could drive a golf cart became an obsession. At the age of 8 she asked to drive the family Robby Gordon 4 seater Polaris RZR in the dirt. Being of smaller stature, she needed blocks on the throttle and brake to have some level of control over the vehicle. That’s when her parents realized that she had an innate ability to maneuver the vehicle in a way an 8 year old typically wouldn’t. Not much thereafter did she discover the Junior 1 Trophy Kart and a series that raced them from her Uncle Mike. At the age of 10, Megan and her dad found a vehicle that fit her almost perfectly and discovered Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. That is when the fun really began! Megan is currently racing a Polaris RZR and has competed in the WORCS series in UTV, GAS – Great American Shortcourse in the Production 1000 category, and GBC Stadium Shortcourse in Stock UTV category and is currently the points leader for the season. She was nominated and selected for an Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame 2022 Impact Award as one of three honorees in the UTV category! Not only is this an amazing accomplishment, but to be one of two females out of a total of 27 people being honored in 9 different categories is quite a privilege. The Impact Award is presented to individuals who have made a mark, or an Impact, in the off road world within their category. For more information, you can read about Megan on the ORMHOF.org website. She won the 2021 championship title in the GBC Stadium Shortcourse series in UTV Stock and is hoping to wrap up the championship as the current points leader with two more races to go. Megan wants to continue racing in the series she’s currently been competing in, but is also considering her hand at desert racing and she is always looking for new sponsorships to keep moving forward!
