Mitzi’s Motor Mavens: Flamingo Florence

Flamingo Florence is a thirty-four-year-old woman who has always had a gust of wind under her tail feather. Florence is always on the move, doing things she loves and exploring and going on new adventures. Florence is passionate about representing her fellow hip amputees because they have the rarest amputation which means also they have the least amount of representation. Florence is a limb difference and disability advocate who desires inclusion for all bodies. Florence attends Pinup pageants, dance halls, car shows, and vintage clothing events, and has an Instagram and YouTube channel to raise awareness for limb differences and also to promote a positive life, even after grim circumstances. Florence recently attended the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum, for the Women and Wheels event in March 2022 and was inspired by all the amazing women who worked so hard for and on their classic vehicles. The museum had a fantastic collection of vehicles and even an old-fashioned ice cream shop attached to the museum itself. Florence was grateful to have a photo shoot with the lovely and talented Mitzi from Mitzi & Co. right inside the museum with classic cars and an old fashioned gas pump station which makes for the perfect pinup photos.

Mitzi held the annual Miss ZADM pinup pageant at the event and Florence came in second place which filled her heart with true happiness and gratitude. Flamingo Florence’s pinup journey started in early 2021 when she did her first pinup photoshoot. Since then, things have propelled at a very fast rate of events including additional photo shoots, seven pageants in which she took first place at the Miss Pinup Pageant, and is a three time second place holder, and has been published in five magazines two of which she is on the cover. Florence was in remission for almost four years from a very rare cancer that caused her to lose her leg at the hip, but unfortunately it has come back, so she is currently under treatment. Florence’s spirits are still high as she continues to peruse her heart’s desires. The pinup scene has been Florence’s biggest motivator to continue what she loves, and the love and support that has come with it has been the exact thing she needs. Florence was concerned that she would not be able to make it to Viva Las Vegas 25, due to her recent diagnosis, but she indeed is going and this will be the first time at the special event. Not only will Florence be attending, she will be in the Queen of the Car Show pageant! What other stage could possibly be better for Florence’s vision of representing her fellow community and fulfill her vintage loving heart other then on that stage!
