There are numerous TV shows and YouTube channels devoted to professional bike designers and builders like Paul Teutel, Jr. of Orange County Choppers and American Chopper fame, now running his own shop Paul Jr. Designs. Indian recently decided that bike builders without the professional identity and clout of the “Big Boys” deserve some recognition, so they created a competition they called “The Wrench,” in which they invited a number of home garage builders to submit their designs for others to vote on.
Three Candidates Have Been Chosen from All Submissions
Indian brought together a panel of four judges – Satya Kraus, Jason Paul Michaels, Roland Sands and Jordan Mastagni – to judge the entries. Their task was to narrow the field down to three entries. Those three bikes – from Alfredo Juarez of Al Paso, TX, PJ Grakauskas of Avon, O, and Christian Newman of Lakeview, NY – were chosen as the primary winners.
Final Winner to Be Determined at Sturgis 2018
As the winners of the primary competition, the three builders, Juarez, Grakauskas, and Newman, were all awarded stock 2018 Indian Scout Bobbers. They were also given a budget of $10,000 with which to work their magic on these blank canvasses and a deadline of the Sturgis bike run in August 2018, where their new creations will be unveiled and submitted to a crowd vote at the Buffalo Chip Rally. The fan favorite winner will receive $10,000 in cash and a magazine full feature spread.
