SEMA 2022 continues to celebrate the evolution of car culture and the enthusiast experience by showcasing aspects of the community that have previously been under-represented at the show. Cases in point, an exhibit co-sponsored by SEMA and the African American Racers Association called "Still I Race" featured the often untold history of African Americans in the race and motorsports industry while Myles Kovacs spearheaded the exhibit of off-road and lifestyle vehicles in the West Hall including displays of Low Rider Hopping, Mini Truck Bed Dancing and Truck Drifting. These exhibits were supported by seminars on diversity in motorsports, as well as the slew of other educational efforts hosted by SEMA.
The Battle of the Builders Top 4 were also announced:
Hot Rod/Hot Rod Trucks
Mike Ring - Ringbrothers, 1948 Chevrolet Pickup Loadmaster, Mothers Booth #22357
Sport Compact, Luxury and Exotics
TJ Russell, 1991 Porsche 911, BAJA Front of Central Hall V052
4-Wheel Drive & Off-Road
Jim Ring - Ringbrothers, 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, HRIA Booth #23295
Young Guns 29 & Under
Josh Michels, 1966 Chevrolet Corvette, Battle of the Builders Booth #10139
We will be following up on all of these topics, but in the mean time, have a look at some more cool cars from the show floor and the featured space outside.
