SEMA is officially on! The 2021 show opened on November 2, with more than 1,300 exhibiting companies and 51,000 buyers confirmed to date, marking the first full-facility event to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center since the pandemic.

The official kick off to the show was the New Product Breakfast, which highlighted the winners for SEMA's Best New Products and featured a guest appearance by Jay Leno, and special guest Keith Urban, giving attendees a little preview of the Mustang Ford would later unveil for the musician during the OEMs press event. Urban's 1969 Mustang was a gift from his wife, actor Nicole Kidman, and was basically rebuilt from scratch by the Ford team.

Ford also took the opportunity to show off its Eluminator crate engine inside a custom all-electric F-100 Eluminator concept – a zero-tailpipe-emissions** demonstration truck powered by the all-new Ford Performance Parts Eluminator electric crate motor, available now for sale..

The Eluminator truck is based on a heritage 1978 F-100 pickup, and features all-wheel drive via two powerful electric motors shared with the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition.

Toyota and Lexus both shared new and updated products in their sport compact and truck lines, but it was the Tacozilla (Toyota's Tacoma camper concept) that stole the show.

The Top 40 Battle of the Builders finalists were announced, and RacingJunk will be following that competition with a slideshow later in the week, but for now, go HERE to see the list.

While the show feels different than in years past -- attendees and exhibitors are masked, Broncos are EVERYWHERE, Electric is more than a buzzword and the halls are less crowded by still hopping in the newly expanded convention center, the SEMA energy remains -- a celebration of buyers, sellers, media and manufacturers eager to celebrate the aftermarket enthusiast space the best way they know how.
