History was made Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway as Dystany Spurlock delivered an impressive seventh-place finish in her ARCA Menards Series East debut. Driving the No. 66 Foxxtecca Chevrolet for MBM Motorsports and Garage 66, Spurlock started eighth and kept it clean through all 200 laps of the Cook Out 200, becoming the first Black woman to compete in the ARCA East series and immediately putting down a solid top-10 run.
Spurlock showed patience early, settling into rhythm on the tight 1/3-mile oval before battling back onto the lead lap by halfway. From there, she stayed consistent, mixing it up in a back-and-forth fight for position and avoiding trouble as cautions stacked up late. In the closing laps, she capitalized on a spin ahead and locked down seventh with a composed, mistake-free drive. The strong debut builds momentum as she eyes more ARCA starts in 2026, with upcoming races at Rockingham and a potential national series debut later this season.
