The 2020 race season is upon us and we have decided to celebrate on Behind The Wheel with our first featured driver of the season. Yes, we know we have not given a lot of love to NASCAR drivers on this show, but we know just how hard these men and women work to achieve their dreams and were recently reminded of this after a scary incident following the Daytona 500.

This is exactly why we decided it was time to talk to a driver who has spent his whole life in this sport. Son of 2002 Daytona 500 winner Ward Burton, current JR Motorsports driver Jeb Burton began his racing career in the NASCAR-sanctioned Whelen All-American Series in 2008; since this time, Burton has followed in his father’s illustrious footsteps up the NASCAR ladder. After collecting wins in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, Burton moved up to the prestigious NASCAR Cup Series, where the Virginia native currently holds 33 career Cup series starts.

Although Burton has had to take a step back into the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, he has continued to impress on and off the track. To learn more about this young driver as well as his thoughts on the current state of safety in NASCAR, click on the Soundcloud link below – and thank you for tuning into Behind the Wheel on RacingJunk.com!
