One of NASCAR’s most historic race teams is doing their part to aid others during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wood Brothers Racing, which has been a part of the Stuart, VA community for more than 70 years, is stepping outside of the motorsports world to help senior residents in their area.
To help keep quarantined residents of a local assisted living facilities connected with their loved ones during this challenging time, this small but mighty difference-making team is raising money to purchase tablets for remote visits with loved ones.
While Wood Brothers is donating $1,500 of their own funds to purchase these tablets, this team is also asking for our help. They are accepting $10.00 donations through their online store; each of these donations both helps keep residents connected and gives race fans a chance to receive a signed thank-you note from driver Matt DiBenedetto and Wood family members Leonard, Eddie and Len.
After launching this campaign over the weekend, this racing family has raised enough money to purchase 68 tablets for Blue Ridge Therapy Connection and The Landmark Center in Stuart VA. The goal is to expand to neighboring facilities. To donate to this cause, visit WoodBrothersRacing.bigartel.com/product/tablets-for-seniors.
