Willys Crashes After PRI

Circumstance can amplify the chances of mistakes, even for the most experienced of individuals. Circumstances like short wheelbases, slicks on asphalt and freezing temperatures in Indianapolis. One driver learned the hard way as he was leaving the Performance Racing Industry Show while in his 1940s Willy, which ended in a roll-over crash.

In the video, which has since gone viral, you can see a driver in a modified orange Mustang begin to put on a show by roasting their tires; they quickly pass the Willys on the pull and then drive away safely out of view. The Willys can then be heard punching the gas. The car immediately yanks hard to the left, which is the last thing you can see before it drifts off screen, a couple seconds pass and the car crashing into the curb can be heard. The Willys proceeded to ride up a cable wire connected to a telephone poll, which then rolled the car over.

Good Samaritans rushed to the scene to make sure the driver was okay and help flip the car back over. The driver was okay and left uninjured; the fiberglass body and roll cage made for good protection. According to some Facebook users, the car has minimal damage and should be good as new soon.
