The NHRA YES Program Will be Featured at 21 National Events and Two Pilot Programs.

The NHRA Youth and Education Services (YES) Program is gearing up to organize 15 live events throughout the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, complemented by six virtual programs during the summer phase. Notably, two “Pilot Program” events are on the agenda, taking place at NHRA Member Tracks in Wichita, Kansas, and Toronto, Canada. These events will offer YES Programs tailored for local schools in the respective communities.

The Toronto Motorsports Park event holds special significance as the inaugural international YES Program outside of the United States, signifying an expansion of the program’s global outreach. Functioning as a full-time educational initiative in motorsports, the NHRA YES Program delivers educational content and activities to schools and youth organizations nationwide. Its primary goal is to expose students to potential career paths in the motorsports industry by inviting them to NHRA national events. The pilot programs further extend these opportunities to tracks that do not host national events.

In 2023, the YES Program successfully hosted over 31,000 students at tracks across the country. Partners for the 2024 program include Ford, Mac Tools, Gerber Collision & Glass, and the United States Air Force. The program’s expansion to NHRA Member Tracks, including the first in Canada, is viewed as an exciting prospect to foster relationships within local communities.

The live events are scheduled to kick off with the 55th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway from March 7-10, continuing through the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol on June 7-9. Following that, live events will extend from the 70th annual NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to conclude the season. Additionally, six virtual YES Programs are slated from the Virginia NHRA Nationals in Richmond to the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd.
