The first weekend of June was a perfect time to celebrate all things vehicular in downtown Long Beach, California, home to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, an IMSA/INDYCAR doubleheader each spring (with the exception of 2020/2021).
Interestingly this year, Funny Car focuses pioneer Matt Hagan knocked off Robert Hight in the last round, driving to a great third success of the time on Sunday at the NHRA New England Nationals at a sold-out New England Dragway.

Signaling another return to the “normal” of pre-COVID-19 activities, the 34th annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show in Seal Beach, California took place on Saturday, April 30th as more than 500 classic cars and trucks – and their proud owners – lined the streets of this Pacific Ocean-adjacent town to celebrate all things automotive.

Hometown hero and Houston native, Erica Enders got the W at Houston Raceway Park in the first all female final round in NHRA Pro Stock history, picking up the win in front of a sold-out crowd on Sunday at the 35th and final NHRA SpringNationals.

Kyle Busch took on Bristol Motor Speedway over the weekend, and the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota had to pull out all the stops to take home the W from the dirt.

It takes a dedicated sort of person to take a rusty Falcon and turn it into a hardcore, caged, LS3-powered road racer in a just 16 months.
Next week there will be no speed limits on some of Long Beach, California’s downtown streets, when the 47th annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach takes place on a 1.97-mile, 11-turn street course next to the Pacific Ocean.
