Florida-based Superformance and Safir Engineering are set to unveil a unique GT40, Chassis GT40P-1150, at the GT40 Reunion during the Pittsburgh Grand Prix from July 26-28, 2024. This event celebrates the 60th anniversary of the GT40 and the 40th anniversary of Safir’s ownership of the GT40 trademark. Modeled after the original GT40 prototype raced by Shelby American, this new build features a 400 HP Weber carbureted small block Ford engine and a stunning American Racing Blue paint job.

Lance Stander, CEO of Superformance, calls the event “the greatest gathering of this iconic sports car in the past twenty years.” This GT40 is built under the guidance of Safir GT40 Spares and will be a key highlight at the reunion.
The GT40 has a rich history in sports car racing, with significant wins at Sebring, Daytona, and Le Mans in the 1960s. The GT40P-1150 pays homage to this legacy, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. The car will be registered with the GT40 Registry and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
