Stop! It’s Hammerhead Time with this IndyCar Inspired Pontiac Trans Am

Cavan Cameron is hard to miss on the SEMA floor, standing easily a foot taller than most of the show attendees and eager exhibitors who are queuing up to chat with him or his dad, Russell, about their car in the Vibrant Performance booth. But as much as Cavan stands out, the putty colored 1973 Pontiac from Horizon Motorsports garners even more attention.

Inspired by Russell’s IndyCar roots and Cavan’s desire to level up from auto-crossing, the Pontiac is low low low and wide and powerful and unbearably cool and will, someday soon, also howl down the track.

“Talking about RacingJunk, this car is literally built of racing junk,” quips Russell, right before someone else slides in for a soundbite and more info on the build. Russell might be exaggerating a little, the list of sponsors that signed on is longer than Cavan’s arms, not the least of which is Vibrant. The Pontiac started as a concept last year that the Cameron’s brought to Vibrant, and it’s become a literal phenomenon as that company and others rallied behind the builders and the build.

Check out the video below for a walk through with Cavan, who does, remarkably, fit in the drivers seat by literal design.
