Monday is set up and preview day at the SEMA Show, which means a lot of cars being staged and driven into the convention center, booths being assembled and manufacturers scrambling to get last minute things done. In the midst of that, SEMA also announced its vehicle of the year choices.
Ford was the clear winner, taking home Car, Truck and Sport Compact of the year, while the Jeep Wrangler hit a home run with 4x4/SUV of the year and the Polaris RZR Turbo S was recognized as the Powersports vehicle of record.
The vehicles are chosen by SEMA exhibitors for their aftermarket potential and collaboration with the myriad aftermarket companies that represent the organization. According to SEMA, "the SEMA Award winners represent the cars, trucks and SUVs that aftermarket manufacturers are investing in and developing products and accessories for. Consumers can be confident knowing that these vehicles have an array of options for customization."
The show itself represents the latest and greatest in the aftermarket industry, from technology to paint, from concepts to complete products. Continue to swing by RacingJunk throughout the week for interviews, reveals and our take on what makes this show stand out from the rest.
