NASCAR’s 2025 schedules for all three of its national touring groups, NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series have been revealed, and there are nods to tradition as well as new venues and dates for a number of events. There are old places, new places, new dates and even an international points-paying Cup Series race for the first time in NASCAR’s 77 seasons.
For fans’ first look at the 2025 Cup Series field, the Clash moves to historic Bowman Gray Stadium February 2 for the first time in 54 years, airing on FOX. That track hosted 29 NASCAR Grand National events prior to the lead series being renamed Cup Series, where legends like Richard Petty, Junior Johnson, Glen Wood, David Pearson, Ned Jarrett, Richie Evans, Jerry Cook and so many others competed back in the day. Petty’s 100th Grand National win came sat the 1969 Meyers Brothers 250 at Bowman Gray.
From there, it’s on to the 67th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on February 16th, while a week later the Cup Series races at Atlanta Motor Speedway, then to the COTA road course, Phoenix Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami and Martinsville Speedways, ending the month of March. FOX and its affiliates show all Cup Series races through to the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 18.
Prime Video makes its NASCAR debut with the longest race on the schedule, the CocaCola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Sunday May 25. Following the Nashville Superspeedway race a week later, the highly anticipated In-Season Tournament gets underway at Michigan International Speedway with the first of three rounds of seeding events that sets tournament brackets that includes the race in Mexico City, slated for June 15 and concludes at Pocono Raceway on June 22.
The first international event in NASCAR’s Cup Series long history takes place in Mexico City at the historic 2.674-mile road course Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. It’s the first time NASCAR will award points in its Cup Series internationally; the Xfinity Series performed at this venue from 2005-2008. “It’a no secret we’ve been bullish about growing NASCAR beyond our borders, and the 2025 schedule is an important and thrilling first milestone in that journey,” said NASCAR executive vice president Ben Kennedy. “In addition to racing in Mexico, we’ve been able to bring back more historic and fan-favorite venues for the first time in decades across our national series.” He noted the intention is to deliver “one of the most diverse and challenging schedules anywhere in motorsports.”
Bringing back older venues for all three series was important in this scheduling, with historic Rockingham Speedway added to both NASCAR’s Xfinity and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series’ schedules. Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, for example, joins the truck series slate for the first time in either NASCAR’s or Lime Rock’s long histories.
With broadcast scheduling changing rapidly everywhere, TNT Sports makes its NASCAR return for the fist time since 2014; it takes over at the second Atlanta Motor Speedway date, June 28 and this race is the start of an in-season elimination events, throughout the entirety of the five-race TNT Sports part of the season’s schedule. It culminates with the $1 million tournament winner crowned on the bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 27 and includes the third Chicago street race.
NBC Sports’ allocation of NASCAR races begins with the Iowa Speedway race, concluding at the close of the Championship chase for all three touring series on Phoenix Raceway’s mile oval November 2. During the playoffs, World Wide Technology Raceway, outside St. Louis, MO debuts as part of the postseason, with the Round of 16 Sept. 7, while New Hampshire Motor Speedway returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2017 for both the Cup Series and Truck Series.
