Mitzi’s Pinup Corner: More of Miss Mooneyes Japan

Hot rod and pinup photographer Mitzi Valenzuela is known for having her finger on the pulse of both classic and rockabilly car culture. As part of that, Mitzi produces pinup contests for shows all over the world. Here she shares photos of the competitors and some super sweet rides.

For the first time, Mitzi & Co. presented the 1st Annual Pinup Contest at the Mooneyes Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show this year. The show was hosted by the lovely Rina Bambina from Germany and Miss Miwa Rock from Japan.

Bonita Bon Bon
The girl with the cute name, Bonita, works and travels as a burlesque dancer in Japan and abroad. In her show, she enjoys slipping into different roles - from the old-fashioned show girl to the modern style pinup girl. A petite girl, Bonita describes herself as "fierce and fashionable."

Queen Azu works as a burlesque dancer in Osaka. For her performances she likes to mix vintage-inspired and modern fashion together. She also offers hand-made pinup costumes for fellow dancers! In her opinion, the cutest pinup girl is always dressed in her own personal costume!

Lovin is a burlesque performer with years of experience in the burlesque and pinup scene. She enjoys slipping into different roles and rocking the stage in vintage-inspired fashion on a daily basis. To her, the most fun is to put up a show that is glamorous and exciting.

Mami loves 1950s American culture and dreams about visiting and exploring the US. She visited Canada in order to study and learn English. Besides traveling, Bunny wants to become a pinup girl, and she is very ambitious. She loves attending car shows, learning about vintage-inspired fashion and enjoys to doing pinup photo shoots.

Chika confesses that she was a bit nervous before applying for the Yokohama Mooneyes Pinup Contest. In her submission, she expressed her deep gratitude to her friend Takeshi-Sama, who encouraged her to participate in the contest. Chika wants to accomplish her goal of being more self-confident, and we think that being on stage right now in our pinup contest is a great opportunity.
