Mitzi's Motor Mavens: Gypsy Minette

"Gypsy Minette is a born and bred San Diegan whose pinup presence is new to the public eye, despite having a passion for posing and all things retro that spans two decades. Though her career as a model began with a national ad campaign for Paul Mitchell, Gypsy’s mission to make it to the page manifested in writing, at first as a music journalist, cutting her teeth on Fat Wreck Chords album reviews and interviewing bands like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and The Dickies. Other gigs were as a musician herself, singing at local pubs, recording and voice acting, until the gamer life led to jobs as a copywriter for interactive trivia and board game companies, where she currently gets to work with licensors such as Disney, Marvel, Nickelodeon, and WB.
Debuting under her moniker as a finalist in San Diego’s Mx Tiki Oasis 2021 pageant, the onstage experience inspired her to continue overcoming her latent Social Anxiety Disorder, and emerge from behind the pen to create for an outwardly aesthetic audience. Fortunately, the solidarity she finds in the like-mindedly nostalgic and edgy, but kind and talented women in the pinup community makes it easy to find different ways to shine. Not unlike playing an RPG or improvising a tune to redefine unique, her mind is always occupied with planning and executing the next look, often choosing to collaborate with women-owned small businesses that also support animal rescue and Autism advocacy. Her most recent modeling foray is alongside classic cars, so look closely for the ever-subtle spark as she gains momentum. Until then, find her on Instagram at
