Jordan Vandergriff Looking for Love on The Bachelorette

Fans of drag racing might not ordinarily take in the juicy tabloid-like reality television show called “The Bachelorette” on ABC, but this time around that could be different. This season the show features two women choosing their “one” man with 32 contestants, one of whom is Jordan Vandergriff, Vandergriff debuted in NHRA’s Camping World Drag Racing Series’ Top Fuel category in 2019, participating in 11 events during his rookie season and recording a semifinal result at Phoenix and making a final round appearance in Dallas.

As part of Bachelor Nation, The Bachelorette advances the hopes of a producer-chosen grouping of men who compete to win the heart of the Bachelorette during that particular season. At the start of each season, contestants are introduced to the Bachelorette and are weeded after group dates, one-on-one adventures, with certain contestants given roses to advance to the next week’s activities, while others are sent home. As each season progresses, bonds are made and the stakes get higher. Each season usually ends with a proposal that’s either accepted or rejected by the chosen person.

This season’s The Bachelorette is different because there are two women involved. Both Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were contestants on the most recent season of the gender-opposed The Bachelor and were part of the final three Bachelorettes vying for Bachelor Clayton Echard. Last season’s reality show The Bachelor was a whiplash ride – which should suit Vandergriff well – when none of the women were selected. Echard eventually ended up, after the season was completed, with contestant Susie Evans, who had left the show the week before its finale.

A sneak peek of the new season from Entertainment Weekly has been produced and it features a clip of Vandergriff and Recchia getting one-on-one time during the first night’s adventures. During the clip Vandergriff shows off his NHRA Top Fuel dragster (a Don Schumacher Racing canopy dragster) and shares some insight into who he is, as he expresses interest in getting to know her. Fans of the sport can see the entire show tonight, Monday, July 11th, starting at 8PM ET on their local ABC affiliate. Hopefully, Jordan Vandergriff will not be weeded out in his first round matchup tonight and can be seen every Monday in the same time slot throughout the season.

NHRA and Bachelor Nation fans are excited about Vandegriff joining this season, with comments like, “I’d give you all my roses,” “I can’t wait! From seeing you on the racetrack to this,” and “My husband and I are stoked to see a drag racer in The Bachelorette.”
