Bob Vandergriff Racing (BVR) is gearing up for the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing season – even before the current 24-race schedule is completed this weekend at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif.
Following his Top Fuel licensing on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway nearly two weekends ago, Bob’s son Jordan Vandergriff’s 2019 program is already underway.
The younger Vandergriff’s rookie season next year features partnership from NFL Hall of Fame great and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown, whose company 81 Logistics Group will be the primary sponsor for Vandergriff’s Top Fuel dragster in five races and will serve as an associate sponsor for the balance of the 24-contest schedule.
81 Logistics Group is a national fleet fuel supply and logistics business. Based in Texas, University of Notre Dame graduate Brown’s company continues his success beyond his football days; with this firm he leads an impressive team of client-focused professionals.
“As we continue go build our program, it’s great to have 81 Logistics Group join BVR on Jordan’s dragster,” said Bob Vandergriff. “Tim and I share the same mindset and I look forward to working with him and everyone at 81 Logistics Group next season.”
Tim Brown attended his first NHRA drag race a few months ago and pronounced himself “blown away by the experience.” He said he is looking forward “to working with Bob Vandergriff as we use this program as a focal point in our business development strategy. I can’t wait to see our company in the Winner’s Circle in 2019.”
BVR has had success with Blake Alexander during the 2018 season, earning a pair of Wally winner’s trophies. Jordan Vandergriff will vie for NHRA’s vaunted Auto Club Road to the Future rookie’s award during his initial, 2019 season of Top Fuel racing.
