The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has a lot on its plate for the 2026 racing season and beyond. With at least eight different series to sanction, this ambitious group is hiring individual series directors, assistant directors and race/competition directors to service its competitors.
During the 2025 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IHRA revealed the schedules for all of its operations, as well as some of the personnel that will be running each one.
It’s ambitious to believe that all of these races can operate under a single umbrella, but that’s what IHRA has planned next year. It intends to sanction eight events in its F1 Powerboat Series, six for the Outlaw Drag Boat Series, eight IHRA Stock Car events, four Snowmobile Series events, eight Sportsman Series, five Pro Pulling Series contests, 10 Small Tire Bratz Series and, finally 11 Outlaw Nitro Series contests.
The Outlaw Nitro Series, which includes Pro Mod Mania four contests into its 11 races, operates throughout the US’s East Coast and in the South, with tracks in North Carolina, Virginia, New York, Michigan, Ohio, Alabama and Memphis already selected. There are two TBAs on the schedule that should be announced later. The Outlaw Nitro Series begins March 19-21 at Benson, NC, with Pro Mod Mania taking place June 5-7 at Milan, MI. The season finale for this series takes place November 5-7 in Memphis, TN.
Each of these series has their own season finale; the Sportsman Series completes its eight-race campaign October 22-24 in Memphis, while the F1 Powerboat Series runs from mid-February through to the last weekend of July, going from Bradenton, FL through to Windsor, CO. There Outlaw Drag Boat Series has its six races – two TBAs – from the 1st of April through to October 23-25, with both venues for the first and last races still to be determined. The five Pro Pulling Series events run from the first weekend of June (West Salem, OH) through the final weekend of September (Darana Motorsports Park, Dunn, NC). The four Snowmobile Series contests began the final weekend of January at Three Lakes, WI and go to March 6-7 at Milan, MI.
IHRA’s Stock Car series starts March 21 at Pulaski Motorsports Park, VA and ends October 17 at Memphis Motorsports Park in Tennessee. Its Sportsman Series runs in the fall, going from September 10-13 at Cordova, IL and holding its World Finals October 22-24 at Memphis, TN. The Small Tire Bratz Series holds its ten events, ranging from March 19-21 in Benson, NC through to November 5-7, again at Memphis.
At this time, IHRA has directors for its Stock Car Series and is evaluating the best candidates for the balance of its operations, but doesn’t want to make quick decisions it might later regret. The Stock Car Series director is Tim Horto, while Daniel Horton is his assistant and Dennis Adcock is the race and competition director. As the variety of series are still quite young, IHRA intends to reveal its personnel selections piecemeal as the variety of competition and the diverse needs are met.
