Dodge To Build an Electric Muscle Car by 2024

With the slogan, “Tear Up the Streets… Not the Planet” Dodge embraces the electric future with promises of a “performance made them do it” muscle car effort.

Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat and more, unveiled its electrification strategy this week, and amongst the highlights was a promise to bring muscle into the EV world.

“The customer is always at the heart of Stellantis and our commitment with this €30 billion plus investment plan is to offer iconic vehicles that have the performance, capability, style, comfort and electric range that fit seamlessly into their daily lives,” said Carlos Tavares, Chief Executive Officer, Stellantis. “The strategy we laid out today focuses the right amount of investment on the right technology to reach the market at the right time, ensuring that Stellantis powers the freedom of movement in the most efficient, affordable and sustainable way.”

But for lovers of power and performance, the real news was framed this way, “Dodge will NOT sell electric cars, Dodge will sell American eMuscle.”  By 2024, Dodge has committed to an electric muscle car, although whether on the Charger or Challenger platform is unknown. But, what we do know is that the original King of Muscle is prepared to take on Elon Musk’s electric dominance, and “muscle” it out of the tech titan’s hands.
