The 50th Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is set for April 11-13, and on race day the nearly 200,000 in attendance will gather beneath sunny skies – it’s never rained on race day – to watch the Indy cars compete on this street circuit, now run on Shoreline Drive.
IMSA and its WeatherTech SportsCar Championship begin their 2025 season this weekend with the midwinter classic Rolex 24 at Daytona, held on Daytona Internatiional Speedway’s 3.56-mile road course that incorporates a few parts of the 2.5-mile tri-oval used by NASCAR and its stock car entities.
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES now has three race weekends where it can evaluate its new hybrid system, one that was supposed to be used starting with the 2023 season, then for the start of the 2024 season, but went into action during the series’ annual trip to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during the July 4th weekend race.
