While some of you are still getting over the shock of a Hybrid Mustang coming in 2020, there are some much less drastic changes coming to the Mustang in 2018 below:
No more V6
Probably one of the biggest changes coming t0 the Mustang in 2018 is the axing of the v6 option. The v6 Mustang was the sweetheart that started it all. it was the famed “secretaries car” said by the late great Carroll Shelby.
Body Changes
One knock on previous Mustangs was the bulgy hood getting in the way of drivers. Ford has done away with that so now you can see more road. The 2018 Mustang also has redesigned headlights/tail lights, lower intake/air dam, as well as redesigned fenders and wheel arches.
MagneRide Suspension
All trim levels for the 2018 Mustang will come with MagnaRide dampers and will also get new shock absorbers, a new cross-axis joint in the rear suspension and improved stabilizer bars for better ride and handling.
New and Improved Transmissions
Ford will offer a new and improved manual tranny with a new twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel. The Auto will now replace the old 6-speed unit with the new 10-speed auto tranny.
Direct Port Injection for GT
Hopefully the 5.0 will gain some much needed low-end torque and better fuel economy.
