The seventh running of the BC 39 Presented by Avanti Windows & Doors race on The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a two-night affair in 2025. Featuring the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and being held July 1-2 this year, the BC 39 race currently has nearly 70 entries, all clamoring to race in and win this event, which honors the late Bryan Clauson, a USAC champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter.

Past winners of the BC 39, which will pay $20,039 to the winner of the 39-lap Wednesday night feature race include Brady Bacon in 2018, followed a year later by Zeb Wise, Kyle Larson in 2021 – there was no 2020 event – Buddy Kofoid in 2022, Justin Grant (2023) and Cannon McIntosh last year. There hasn’t been a repeat victor in this event.

The first, Tuesday night of action on this 1/5-mile dirt track inside the third turn of Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 2.5-mile oval features heat races and a 30-lap feature that pays $5,000 to win for the USAC midgets. There are six Wednesday qualifying races, with lineups based on Tuesday’s heat race points. Each qualifying race is 10 laps and the top six in heat race points start inverted in each of their respective qualifying races.

Following the qualifying races, drivers ranking 1-18 in overall points lock into Wednesday night’s 39-lap feature and will start BC 39 straight up, based on their overall points. Drivers ranking 19-30 in overall points following their qualifying races compete in a semi-future event, while those ranking 30th and back in overall points after qualifying races compete in one of two C-Main events. The top four finishers from each of two C-Mains transfer to the semi-feature and start at the tail of the field, while the top six finishers from the semi-feature transfer to the B39 and start 19th through 24th.

There is a companion event to the feature BC 39 race, the Stoops Junior Sprint Invitational.

As of June 26, 67 entries had been received and at least two former winners (McIntosh and Grant) are on that list. Entries can be filed until race day on the 1st of July. Fans on-site can enjoy a Tuesday night track invasion once action is completed, while there’s a Wednesday afternoon (4-5pm ET) meet and greet, autograph session inside the gates, after which fans are invited to the public drivers meeting. Track action begins at 6pm both nights.

A helmet signed by all participating BC 39 drivers will be auctioned, with all proceeds directly benefiting USAC RaceAid, which provides financial aid to the families of auto racing participants with ties to USAC who have been injured and/or need assistance.

Even before the cars hit this dirt track, there will be a Prelude to the BC 39 that incudes a silent auction, pit stop challenge and Clayton Anderson concert in downtown Indianapolis on Monday, June 30th, starting 6pm at 47 S. Pennsylvania St.
