The 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas opened with an unveiling of Jordan Costello's 1971 Plymouth Duster at the RacingJunk booth.
The BBT Fabrications-built muscle car was the highlight of a booth exhibit that featured NHRA Funny Car driver Buddy Hull, a TurboKits.com giveaway, and the RacingJunk models signing the newly returned RacingJunk calendars.
And, of course, there were a few thousand other highlights of day 1 of the ever growing aftermarket trade show, including the opening breakfast, New Product Awards, multiple vehicle unveilings (including three from Ring Brothers), new concepts from Toyota, Battle of the Builders, live streaming and live broadcasting and more.
160,000 attendees from 140 countries are expected to walk the multiple halls, checking out the best that the aftermarket has to offer from 2,400 exhibiting brands.
“Every year, the SEMA Show illustrates that our members are not just reacting to the future; they are building it together,” said SEMA President and CEO Mike Spagnola. “Every initiative, every innovation, every victory we achieve is fueled by their passion, expertise, and commitment.”
While Toyota continues to take literal center stage, Mopar/Stellantis has returned to the show after an absence in 2023, and will join Kia, Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, Honda Racing Corporation and Ford Performance in representing the OEMs. GM/Chevy Performance are notably absent from that lineup.
Live experiences continue to expand -- the Battle of Builders sponsored by Mother's Polish kicks off with 40 hand selected contestants and the winner will be crowned on Friday.
Plus, according to SEMA, attendees can experience"thrilling tire-smoking drifting demos from OPTIMA, exhilarating performances from Shell Performance Unbound and Horsepower Rodeo, high-flying freestyle motocross by Nitro Circus, a live build by Akira Nakai of RWB, and outdoor adventures at the Overland Experience, culminating in the finale onX Offroad Build Challenge.
It's a comprehensive and exciting show that has been rebuilding since COVID.
But for now, here's a peek at a few of the coolest cars on the show floor.
