40th Anniversary Get-Together Is the Biggest Yet

The Mustang Club of America (MCA) is “Dedicated to the Preservation, Care, History, and Enjoyment of Mustang.” Their annual get-togethers offer attendees everything imaginable that is Mustang, from pedal cars to clothing and restoration/mod parts. This year’s celebration, which was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Brickyard, was primarily an opportunity for Mustang owners to do what they love most: Get together and talk with other Mustang owners about Mustangs, while having the chance to drool over hundreds of excellent examples of Mustangs from 1964 ½ through today. A lucky few even got to take their cars on the track and put in several hot laps around the legendary race track.

The event also allowed attendees the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Mustang marquee and find out the plans that Ford and Ford Performance have in store for owners and the future. Ford Performance, for example, held center stage with the largest display and held a 2017 Shelby GT350 on a turntable for all to see. The company also provided other versions of the car for attendees to ride-along on the race track.
Famous Faces and Names Were in Attendance

Shelby America continued its decade’s long partnership with the brand by unveiling their brand new 2017 Shelby GTE. This latest version of the Shelby Mustang comes with a 5-liter V8 or a peppy little 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with a variety of performance upgrades that include a Ford Performance catback exhaust system and performance handling system with 19-inch wheels. The “E” in the “GTE” stands for “Enhancement” meaning that the car is designed to make upgrading it easier than before.

Richard Petty also made an appearance at the party. The King was there to show off his company’s newest Mustang offering as well-Petty Garage’s 2017 King Edition Mustang GT. The release of this car will coincide with Petty’s 80th birthday later this year.
