Mitzi’s Motor Mavens: Abby Dandy

Click Here to Begin Slideshow As we near the end of 2022 I want to give a special thanks to all the wonderful pinups and readers here at Racing Junk. I hope you all continue to enjoy our features here. My last feature of 2022 is with Abby Dandy at the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo photographed with the 1940 Packard. Plans for the holidays? I’ll enjoy a nice quiet Christmas home with family this year. My sister is expecting a beautiful baby and there is eggnog to be sipped with loved ones. (We have a family ‘nog recipe we age for 6 months!) What is your favorite memory of Christmas growing up? I always loved decorating the tree and watching “A Christmas Story”. We would put on TBS since they played it for 24 hours starting on Christmas Eve. We would watch the movie and trim our beautiful retro aluminum tree. Happy memories! Best Christmas present you've ever received? I’ve received original photos of Bettie Page a few times, and they make my heart sing like no other. I also received a handmade cigarette holder once and I treasure it deeply. What's your dream holiday vacation? New York City- Ice skating, shopping, burlesque shows+ theatre…that all sounds like a dream holiday to me. Or Hawaii, where the only layer I’d need is a bikini! If you could replace Santa's sleigh with a classic car which one would you pick? A 1959 Cadillac 6200 in the jolliest red imaginable! Santa would be cruising in style. Any New Year's resolutions? I’m not much for resolutions, but I would like to read more. I love learning and I can’t wait to see what I can gain more knowledge about in the coming year. Favorite memories of 2022? Simple things! Cuddles with my kitties, evenings spent with friends, and meals shared. I’m lucky to have the time to create art and have fun, I’m excited for more joy in 2023.   Click Here to Begin Slideshow
