The changes in NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel racer Josh Hart’s life are coming almost as quickly as the driver scoots down a dragstrip. Earlier this fall, Hart announced he was selling his Josh Hart Racing Top Fuel team, inclusively. The operation was quickly grabbed by Elite Motorsports, who will run Tony Stewart in a Tony Stewart Racing Nitro affiliation.

Shortly afterwards, Hart’s racing future was determined when Brittany Force announced her departure from full-time dragster competition, and her team, John Force Racing decided that Hart would be the perfect replacement for the two-time champion, newly married and wanting to start a family. Hart’s sponsorship for the 2026 NHRA 75th anniversary season is coming from Hart’s Burnyzz Speed Shop in Ocala, Florida.

The multiple-time NHRA race winner, who will drive a Chevrolet-powered Top Fuel entry is making another big step as he goes all-in with John Force Racing in 2026: the lifelong Mopar fan and collector has decided to sell his entire Mopar car and truck collection at the January 6-18 Kissimmee Mecum Auction, which starts the auction season next year.

“I am going all in with John Force Racing in my pursuit of a Top Fuel world championship,” Hart declared, “and I wanted to show that I am all in when it comes to representing our sponsors like Chevrolet, an iconic manufacturer. I will be very proud to wear the Chevy bowtie on my Burnyzz Speed Shop Top Fuel dragster and my uniform. I can’t wait for the 2026 season to start.”

Among the many cars and trucks available through this auction will be Hart’s race-ready Dodge Drag Pak Challenger, which he raced during the 2025 Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series. This race car, along with multiple Dodge Vipers, several other Dodge Drag Pak Challengers and a vintage Dodge Power Wagon, are in mint condition, most with exceptionally low mileage and, as one would expect for someone that owns a speed shop, have amazing detailing. Josh Hart has spent years building his collection and is looking forward to seeing his vehicles go to appreciative collectors.

“All of the cars in my collection have been prized possessions, but I saw this as an opportunity to find them a new home with collectors that will appreciate them as much as I did,” Hart said. “Some of the cars are some of the earliest cars to roll off the assembly line,” he revealed. “The Drag Paks are amazing cars that I have had since they were first released. This is a great mix of cars that could be museum pieces or the perfect daily driver.”

Among the collectible vehicles are a 2018 Dodge Demon with 80 miles on the odometer, a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 with only three miles, matching VINs and specially built for Hart with a crate engine, to be sold as a pair. Hart also has a 2017 Dodge Hellcat, the last-built manual-transmission model with only 700 miles, a 2017 Dodge Viper GTC, a one-of-a-kind twin-turbo, 1200-horsepower vehicle with 300 miles. Hart is selling his 2021 Drag Pak competitor, raced during the 2025 NHRA Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series and a vintage, 1967 Power Wagon, fully built with real Hellephant power plant on a Rubicon frame with 37s.

Some of the vehicles being offered are high production numbers and some of the final models to roll from the assembly line with every option offered, carbon-fiber accented and loaded with personalized build sheets to Hart. There are four remaining Drag Pak models and a Viper ACR on offer for the Kissimmee Mecum Auction, which is live for nearly two weeks, ranging from January 6 through to the 18th in Florida.

  1. Wow, a Chevrolet powered top fueler! I haven’t seen one of those in over 50 years!
I have seen top fuel and funny car Chrysler Hemi engine designs with sheet metal plates on top of the valve covers with Chevrolet and Ford names on them.
I wonder if Chevy put it in his contract that he had to sell his mopars? He will regret selling them.
