After carefully examining various issues with the JL factory clutch system, Baty utilized his expertise to design a solution that surpasses the capabilities of the OEM system.
“Our new 11″ Adventure Series clutches for the Jeep JL and JT tackle and eliminate all the problems associated with the factory clutch,” explains Will Baty, Off-Road and R&D Specialist at McLeod Racing. “We specifically aimed to address the flawed plastic clutch slave cylinder and engineer a reliable clutch kit that seamlessly integrates with the factory clutch master, resolving the shortcomings of the OEM clutch and plastic slave cylinder.”
The Jeep JL clutch and flywheel kits are available in three stages. The Trail Pro (450 ft/lbs. of torque) is tailored for mild engine modifications and larger tires, featuring a steel-backed organic disc. For more extensive engine upgrades such as strokers, turbos, or superchargers, along with 37″ tires and larger, the Super Trail Pro (510 ft/lbs. of torque) kit comes equipped with an organic steel-backed and ceramic-lined disc. The Trail Extreme (570 ft/lbs. of torque) kit caters to serious truck and off-road enthusiasts, accommodating substantial engine modifications and increased vehicle weight due to larger tires. This advanced kit includes a ceramic-lined disc.
Each kit encompasses a high clamp load pressure plate, a sprung hub disc, a max mass steel flywheel, a billet hydraulic bearing, a bleeder, and all necessary hardware.
