The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has officially acquired Maple Grove Raceway. This landmark move further expands the sanctioning body’s presence in grassroots and professional drag racing and strengthens its National footprint.
Located in Pennsylvania and founded in the early 1960s, Maple Grove Raceway has long been regarded as one of the fastest and most respected drag strips in the country. The facility has hosted generations of racers and fans, earning a reputation for elite track preparation, strong community ties, and a family-friendly racing environment.
Under the stewardship of the Koretsky family, Maple Grove has undergone significant revitalization in recent years, blending modern operational upgrades with the traditions that made the track a household name in drag racing. The family emphasized that they will remain actively involved during the transition, ensuring continuity while helping guide the track’s future under IHRA ownership.

“This is a track with deep roots and an even stronger future,” said IHRA Owner Darryl Cuttell. “Maple Grove represents what racing should be—competitive, welcoming, and centered around racers and families. Bringing it under the IHRA umbrella is about investing in the long-term health of the sport.”
The Koretsky family echoed that sentiment, calling the acquisition both personal and purposeful.
“Maple Grove has always been more than a race track—it’s home,” the family said in a statement. “Partnering with IHRA feels like a natural next step. Their vision for affordable, fun, and family-centered racing aligns perfectly with our values and with what this facility has stood for over the decades.”
What This Means for Drag Racing
The acquisition signals IHRA’s continued push to own and operate premier facilities, enabling greater control over event quality, racer experience, and long-term infrastructure investment. With Maple Grove now under the IHRA banner, racers can expect increased alignment between track operations and IHRA-sanctioned events, potential schedule expansion, and further facility enhancements.
Industry insiders view the move as part of a broader strategy to stabilize and grow sportsman drag racing by securing iconic venues rather than relying solely on third-party operators.
The Koretsky family will work closely with IHRA leadership throughout 2026 and beyond, ensuring that Maple Grove’s legacy remains intact while positioning the track for future growth.
