The opportunity to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on its infield 1/4-mile dirt oval is just too much of a carrot for 60 USAC racers who are entered in the September 26-27 DrivenToSaveLivesBC39 race. The sixth such contest, celebrates the life of racer Bryan Clauson, a former USAC champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter. The event is held to increase awareness of organ donation and encourage participation in the Indiana Donor Network Driven2SaveLives program.

This is the sixth BC39 race, a three-day celebration of the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget series. While there was no race in 2020, due to the COVID19 pandemic, former winners include Brady Bacon in 2018, Zeb Wise, 2019, Kyle Larson in 2021, Buddy Kofoid in 2022 and last year’s winner, Justin Grant who, along with Bacon is entered for this year’s race.

The 2024 edition, with at least the 60 entries received to date, includes current Midget Series points leader Daison Parsley, a late entrant for the event. Twenty-two of the drivers in this BC39 field have won national USAC feature events. They include Kyle Cummins, Thomas Meseraull, Stephen Schnapf, Kevin Thomas Jr., Davey Ray, Zach Daum, Mitchel Moles, Jacob Denny, Shane Cottle, Kaylee Bryson, Ryan Timms, Emerson Axsom, Cannon McIntosh, Zach Wigal, Gavin Miller and Briggs Danner.

The Driven2SaveLivesBC39 race meeting encompasses three consecutive nights of racing on The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, tucked inside the massive facility’s third turn. Track action begins on Thursday, September 26, starting with the drivers meeting in the track’s media room at 3PM. On both Thursday and Friday, September 26-27, the field is split into two, with one half competing on night one and the other half the second evening. On both nights, public gates open at 4PM ET, with hot laps beginning at 6PM. This activity is followed by opening ceremonies, heat races, qualifying races, the semi-feature and the feature event.

Saturday, September 28 features the finale of the three-day gathering, with public gates opening at 4PM and cars on the dirt track at 6. Opening ceremonies are slated for 7PM and the main events, beginning with the D-Main, multiple C-Mains, the Semi-Feature and concluding with the 39-lap Feature event that pays $20,039 to win.

Today, September 19 was the final day for early entries at $75/each. Starting tomorrow, late entries are $150. Teams may file their entries at https://usacracing.ticketspice.com/2024-bc39. That site is also available for teams grandstand tickets, pit and parking passes.

Spectator tickets are still available at www.TheBC39.com. Spectators are advised to enter the Speedway on 30th Street. Competitors enter through the 16th Street tunnel.
