2025 Shelby GT350 Unleashed on the Barrett-Jackson Stage

The performance and motorsports world witnessed history today as Shelby American, a subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), unveiled the 2025 Shelby GT350 on the Barrett-Jackson stage in Scottsdale, Arizona. This extraordinary event marked nearly six decades since Carroll Shelby introduced the original GT350 on January 27, 1965. With an impressive 810 horsepower, the 2025 Shelby GT350 stands as the most powerful iteration in the model’s history. These vehicles are poised to redefine performance for enthusiasts worldwide and are available as a street car and a track-ready, street-legal GT350R.

Revisiting an Icon “Sixty years ago, the Shelby GT350 marked a new chapter in performance and motorsports history,” remarked Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American. “It was Shelby’s first model based on the Ford Mustang, a groundbreaking follow-up to the Shelby Cobra. For 2025, we followed the same strategy, collaborating with industry leaders to craft a special Shelby car worthy of its legacy.”

The 2025 GT350 features upgrades to suspension, exhaust, styling, and more to enhance the street-driving experience. Its 5.0L V8 engine comes in two configurations: a 480-horsepower naturally aspirated version and an 810-horsepower supercharged option, both offered with manual or automatic transmissions. With an MSRP starting at $109,999 for the supercharged variant, the Shelby GT350 delivers unmatched performance at an accessible price.

Track-Ready Excellence The street-legal 2025 Shelby GT350R takes performance to another level. Equipped with over 830 horsepower and exclusively available with a six-speed manual transmission, it embodies the spirit of competition. As in 1965, only 36 GT350R models will be built, each in white with optional racing or heritage stripe packages.

The GT350R boasts:

  • Carbon fiber interior ‘tub’
  • Optional carbon fiber racing seats and harnesses
  • Integrated roll cage
  • Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports Trans Am-spec high-speed carbon fiber aero package
  • Fully adjustable JRI race struts and shocks
  • ProSystems Alcon racing brakes
  • Numerous chassis upgrades

“While the Shelby GT350 street car is refined for daily driving, the GT350R is engineered for the track,” said Vince LaViolette, Vice President of Operations and Senior Designer at Shelby American. “We focused on reducing weight, enhancing performance, and maintaining cooling efficiency for road courses.”

A Return to Racing The collaboration between Shelby American and Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports extends beyond the GT350R. Plans are underway for a Trans Am-spec race car, with an official debut in the 2026 race season. “Shelby-built cars dominated racing in the ’60s, and we’re thrilled to bring that legacy back to life,” said Aaron Shelby, board member of Carroll Shelby International and grandson of Carroll Shelby.

Production of the 2025 Shelby GT350 will commence in the second quarter of the year, with cars sold through select Shelby-approved Ford dealerships in the U.S. and international Shelby mod shops. Each vehicle will be documented in the official Shelby Registry and come with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
