62 NOVA HARDTOP
496 BBC 10-1 PRO COMP HEADS
.714 .714 258 264 SOLID ROLLER COMP
TEAM G 4500 INTAKE

MSD 6AL
T-350 WITH EDGE CONVERTER 3500

WOULD A HP CARB AND INTAKE BE BETTER THAN THE DOMINTATOR 4500?

RUNS VERY GOOD, SPINS BAD.... RAN LAST 2-1/2 SUMMERS AND MILEAGE IS TERRIBLE...

We're running the 454R intake with a 1050 Dom., also we have a very good set of heads (BB 2 Extra, fully ported) on the 468" motor. You don't say what kind of rearend you have, is it a 10 bolt or a 12 bolt, or 9" ford, do you have a spool?, is it a ladder bar car or 4 link? If it's a stock suspesion you can get a taller tire under it which you need. I had a 66 Nova with a sm/blk, 10.5X 28.5 tall MT's it ran a best of [email protected],85 with a 406" and would carry the front end 30/40' out/ I was running a turbo 400, with 4.88 gears. It was a ladder bar car.
By the way that Biscyne is now for sale, for $18,000.00, runs [email protected] on motor, [email protected] on 200 shot. The car weighs 3700lbs, less driver.

It looks the weight is not transferring at all, but even if it was it wouldn't hook on the street/hwy. Heck my Malibu wouldn't hook on a hwy, with the little 377" and 14X32's. no question about it you need more tire to make it work.

I ran Nova 6 cylinder springs and 90/10 shocks, my front end was stock including drum brakes, i also had a 9" ford rear, but with ladder bars and coil overs, i later put mini tubs in so i could get a 12" on the car, but it ran the best ET and speed with the 10.5 tires.
Here's a short clip of the car. I think i had a 10.42 dial, the other Nova in the closer lane had a dial of 11.0 something, as you can see i ran him down for the win light. This car weighed over 3,000 and all original glass, fenderwells and bumpers with only a fiberglass hood
