Default how much diff from adding nitrous

I have a 355 sbc its only 7.25/1 compression ratio. I have a comp blower cam solid roller 575 lift with brodix track 1's. I'm running a 420 mega blower at 3% underdriven making 12psi boost and the car went a 10.20 at 130mph and I'm wanting to run bout 9.20-9.50. I don't belive ill get there without major changes to the short block or changing blowers its on gas! I'm thinking about puting a 200hp plate of nitrous on top the blower. The short block is all top quailty stuff! And was wondering if anybody had any thoughts about what kind of et to expect out of the nitrous or any feed back. Good or bad?

Default Blown N2O

I have seen some people utilize the nitrous as more of a cooling agent and spin the blower a little higher. The only real concern is getting the intake charge temp too hot with gasoline. Instead of depending on a large power shot of N20, you could use a conservative amount, enough to cool the air after the blower. Put an thermocouple after the blower and monitor the exit blower temp, then try a little N2O to see how much cooler the air gets with you current setup. You will find that you can spin the blower higher to get more boost and have cooler intake temps. Setting the N2O system up with methanol will further reduce the chance of detonation and cool the temp even more.

I have heard it can cool things down by 60%... thats gotta be good.

Default Blown N2O

There are more benefits with this line of thinking and that is less N2O usage, and that result per pass doesn't cool the bottle so much, which all leads to allowing the blower and the engine to work together like they are designed yielding consistency. If the blower is not a tight unit that has higher pumping losses which adds heat into the intake mixture, N2O addition will make it seem like the blower has gained all its efficiency again. This the common purpose for using it in turbo cars as well.

Default Dry vs Wet Nitrous

With no real mods done to car and desired gain of 100hp do you really need a wet kit or will dry kit installed in MAF suffice?[/b]
