Hello, fellow repair technicians! I came across a De'Longhi D90D25ESLRIII-B1A microwave with some rather strange behavior: the timer periodically resets on its own or doesn’t respond at all when I press start, even though the display lights up normally. It looks like a controller glitch or a problem in the front panel wiring harness. I’m trying to find a decent service manual for the De’Longhi D90D25ESLRIII-B1A to figure out how to properly test the door microswitches and the control board itself.

I suspect that one of the door closure sensors is burning out and sending false signals to the control board, causing the appliance’s logic to freeze up. Has anyone dealt with this model series? How finicky is the electronics? I’m wondering if it’s actually possible to access the control board without removing the magnetron and high-voltage transformer, or is the layout too cramped?

To be honest, I sometimes envy people like you—you can all fix a broken mechanism yourselves, but I lack both the skills and the courage to do so. You know how it is—if it breaks for good, I’ll lose a device that a technician could have “brought back to life.” Even though I’ve saved the ManualMachine website just in case—by the way, it includes a service manual for De’Longhi D90D25ESLRIII-B1A - I doubt I’ll actually use it. As a last resort, I’ll email it to a repair technician if someone takes on the job. I actually think it’s a poltergeist, because the microwave sometimes turns itself on at night. What is this—am I going crazy?
