That sucks. Just think how sweet it will be when you do get to hit the track. Then you'll be needing these>>>> 8) 8) 8) 8) from all the low light you're used to. I just bought a prescription pair to race in. Ray-Ban FTW.

gearing toward 1st race of the year memorial weekend on that Monday...looking so far at a 8 car shoot out..could end up with a few more...a new class being put back into the Mix called Nostalgia 10.5...3k to win !!!

My cousin and another guy came up with these rules for starters...the 10.5 class has been falling off down south for a good while..mixture of economy and tube frame chassis and Turbo's finally figuring it out...lol.....hopefully this new class will take off and do well in the south.

fingers crossed !

Nostalgia 10.5 Rules ( Revised 5/10/11 )

10.5 W slick or smaller
Working headlights & Taillights(NOT MANDORTORY but recommended)

Stock appearing dash.(NOT MANDORTORY but recommended)
Min ground clearance 3 inch from front of the nose to 12 inch behind centerline of the front axle.
Wheelbase must be OEM, max variation +- 1 inch
All cars must go across scale before each round.
General track rules apply.
!!!Rules are subject to change!!!

Weight 2900 lbs minimum
NOS = 2900lbs
SINGLE CENT. SUPERCHARGER LARGER THAN F2 = 3000lbs
TWIN CENT. SUPERCHARGERS = 3100lbs
SINGLE TURBO LARGER THAN 91MM = 3000lbs
TWIN TURBOS LARGER THAN 80MM = 3100lbs
TWIN TURBOS LESS THAN 80MM = 2900lbs

yeah I know what you mean...my car is the closest thing to the original 10.5 car as it gets..steel roof and qtrs, stock wheel base 2x3 main frame rails, stock firewall...the only thing that mine had done to it that the original 10.5 class guys didn't have back in the day was front struts which could be changed back pretty easy.

back in the late 90's a 5.0 or 5 teen could still win you a 10.5 race...not anymore.......there will still be 4.50's and 60's run this up coming memorial weekend....I am just hoping my car can win a few rounds..I got a good 60ft...gotta chop the tree down get out there quick and hope they cannot run me down in time...lol

by the way what do you have ?

No matter what rules you change / add a class (which usually means you are just dividing a class) if it's popular guys that do have the unlimited race budgets will get in it. Dividing classes is what's hurt mud racing so much. The more classes you have the fewer trucks you have in each class which means less payout, which means fewer trucks come back next month until there is not much left. I fully understand what you're trying to do and hope it works, but it seldom does for us.
Racing on any level in any motor sport is gonna have guys that have the money to ruin all the fun for us average folks. lol
Put a $20,000 buy out rule on the cars and that wil teach the rich folks from spending so much! lol
GOOD LUCK AT THE RACE BJ! Let us know how you do.

Bjuice, I have a 70 nova with a stock front end, it dose have wilwood brake setup and hubs. The rest of the car has 9" mw, 4 link, wish bone, anti roll, Koni coil overs 12 ponit adj. 2x3 frame all crommoly bars in side and was cert to 7.50 and now they will only cert to 8.50 untill i change some of the bars around cock pit. I have it cert to 8.50 and going to have change it at a cost of 1000.00 to 1500.00. The body has glass hood, doors, deck lid, front bumper, the rest of it is steal. Has the stock firewall with front and mid engine plates. The car is very well built and drives great for how old it is. The car is one of the first true 10.5 street cars built in orlando fla.

Rabbit, I agree but they need to make the playing feild even. There is some of us that like to race and not watch. I take my car to some races where i know i stand a chance and hope the other guy fouls or like bjuice said cut down the tree and make them chase me down.

Good luck Bjuice, Take one home for the poor boys

Good luck Brian. Let us know how it goes and what kind of car count you guys get.

I'm going out tomorrow night for some test passes and a gamblers race. Then back to the track on Saturday for our regular bracket stuff.
Hoping to improve on my 9.12@147 I ran a couple weeks ago.
