Dont let it go bro..I had someone get me for $6500 using a stolen Bank of America credit card and I let it go. i wish I pursued it more.

Oh and BTW the guy who scammed me was the son of an NYPD retired cop.

You realize you dont have to pay for an investigator out of your pocket, just report it to the local police in the area where the crime took place. (where he lives) It wont cost you a dime.

Last time I checked, there was a difference between an "investigator" (who takes a report & "will get back to you") & has an overloaded amount of cases which take priority by offense & quality of leads... you will not pay him... most likely, he will not pay you with due justice either. He is paid by the state & could not solve most of the petty cases if his life depended on it.

Then there is a "Private Investigator" who is representing the victim because the "Investigator" likely will file the victims case & it will become cold. Correct me if I am wrong here, but the victim actually wants to pursue the perp & catch him... therefore he will pay some out-of-pocket expenses in order bring the perp to justice; which is why he hired a "private investigator".

My experience is that the city/state investigator has to be spoon-fed a quality lead to move on it... otherwise it is futile to have any expectations from them... unless it is a murder or major offense that would not go unnoticed or unforgotten by john-Q-public & the TV stations.

I have been let down by the "investigators" that have "no out of pocket expenses"... sorry if you disagree. I know this because the investigator I contacted most recently said that my brother in laws assault against him "would have resulted in an arrest & broader investigation if he would have DIED"... 2 weeks in a Coma was not good enough; needed a MURDER. That was 3 years ago & the known man who assaulted & almost KILLED him was never apprehended... or arrested.

So, tell me Jillian; where does a scammer who ripped off someone online rate on the "Investigators" priority???? I will pay the private; thank you very much.

I have been quiet, watching you/your comments, all your ex-supa-cop experience you boldly offer up on here, etc.... slow down turbo. Carl Reed has been at this a LONG TIME & no "investigator" has put him away long enough to keep him from doing what he does.

Sorry if I am stirring anything up here boys; just being honest based on my life experiences with these people we call "Investigators".

Ok, I get it, you dont like cops point taken. But is there a need to reply in such a harsh manner? All I was doing was offering some advice, if the OP wishes to go alternative routes thats fine if he has the extra money to do so.
I was simply letting him know perhaps he could get the FBI involved since this person has done much of his scams online and interstate.

As far as this Carl Guy, I can not understand how he has been going on so long scamming people in the racing and automotive industry, considering 90% of the industry is men, and some pretty nasty big ol boys too. So why has someone not handled this clown already either legally or perhaps in other more "direct" fashions?

I already know whatever I say or advice I offer will be replied to with disdain anyhow, so fire away.

The pleasure is all mine Harb. After all, there are many fine men like yourself here. Had I been frequenting the Team Chevelle site much longer, I would have been expelled for not having a Chevelle degree & talking about changing anything from stock. Holy crap- tough crowd over there. Those guys are Chevelle forensic-preservation staff/personnel. You don't need no stinkin' build sheet over there.... those guys correct the build sheets for errors.

No seriously, I have learned more from those dudes than I ever knew b4 I got my 4th A-body. I thought I knew a few things.... I knew nothing until I meant those guys. I have spent a lot of time over there & the "Chevelle Stuff" site lately b/c of this Chevelle I acquired. Armed with more knowledge, I am back here among my true friends. There is no sight like RJ. It is all you guys that make it what it is. Good to see Scorp pop in too. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. Sorry to high-jack!!!

Carlos~ El' Reedos: Better head south...you are going to get it broham. Better move far away sucka. I think this dude is willing to invest on seeing you get WAXED. At any rate, we all would like to see you behind some bars with your new partner bubba. Scoot

DragonMasterbater: no one is actually suggesting that. However for the amounts of money involved and the areas the guy has performed his scams in, especially Texas where you can defend property with deadly force, I was just saying I am surprised that it has not taken place as of yet. I have seen people shot in the head for name calling where Im from, so I would imaging ripping people off for thousands of dollars, one would eventually run across the wrong person with a few screws loose.

Besides, as the previous poster, Scooter already stated, the cops wont do anything if you beat me up and put me in a coma.

Continue your personal assault on me if you wish, and lets take this thread off topic too. Oh thats right, BJ will just delete my posts for yall.
