Dirka, you are getting ready to have some serious fun if you have never been on a track before. My first run ever was July 18, 2009. It was an absolute blast for an old man!! 11.3 seconds and a whopping 46.99mph.

Second, You have to get some video of your first trip to the track. You may make 1,000 passes in your lifetime, but you'll only make one first pass!! And we want to see it too!!

Well of course I am going to be video taping my very first run and let all of y'all see it. I will never keep anything like that from you guys. The only thing that sucks is I got to wait till I'm out of the big sandbox to do that. So it will be a lil bit. Plus I got to build the car. I seen a 1956 Chevy stepside that I was thinking bout making a prostreet. What you guys think about that? Or should I go with a car instead of a truck? The reason being a truck is I found one for 1700.

As far as the first run. As many time as you go over it in your head and practice, there is no substitute for the first experience. Things will seem to happen in double time!! Just keep your wits and focus-focus-focus.

It will be in a couple years but I still cant wait. I think that would be awesome. Who knows I might have to drive back east just to run my first trip down the track. Trucks are cool, but I would build a car. Cars are more aerodynamic, easier to get good tried and true race parts. Not to mention typically are easier to sell when you get ready to upgrade. Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with being different, heck look at me, but a good quality NORMAL race car is a much easier first project. You can't go wrong with a Msss stange, (just can't quit say it, but I'm trying!) Camaro, Monte Carlo, Nova, Chevy II etc..
