# 39, a '94 Trans Am, was built from the ground up by Alan Blaine of Blaine Fabrication in October of 2005 as #37. Suspension by Unbalanced Engineering. She was campaigned in the NASA CMC spec class from 2005 to 2010 when the driver retired from racing. NASA log book available. Chassis and body are sound. Cosmetically, it has some minor bumps and scrapes. Pictures show the hood crack and bumper cover tear.
Randy Pobst, a friend of the original owner, did a 2:12 lap at VIR with the LT1 motor (3300lbs/255whp).
I purchased #39 in April of 2024 from the original owner for use at Driver's Education events. After 44 track days, in September of 2025, I started to have issues with the LT1, and in January installed a 6.0 LS based LY6 motor.
The car was tested on April 18 and is an absolute blast to drive. Now with at least 100 more horsepower, the car is capable of staying with a lot of the new fangled ones out there.
The only issue that I am aware of is that the front lower control arms should be rebuilt. The car has the Global West Monoball system & a brand new kit comes with the car as well as new AC Delco lower ball joints.
When I started this build it was with the intention of making the car virtually bullet-proof. I used only top tier products in the engine, clutch & engine management system. The only reason the car is being sold is because I was given an opportunity to purchase a track car that I have wanted for years for a price I couldn't refuse (you can see it in the background).
