If your going to stay with 28 tall slicks a 4:56 gear would be good
your vega would like a loser convertor

I used to have 29tall slicks with my 4:86 gears I was at 7500 on chip
same slicks same gears with old motor was at 6,000 rpms ran 12.70 mostly stock 355

my convertor is a 8" ati was around 4300 with 355
stalls now at 5400 with my 385

run it and get used to car make small changes and have lots and lots of fun!!!!

There's a couple changes you could make, (now these are just from my experience running sm/blks) A 331" motor doesn't need that much tire, you could probably run a 10.5 or 11" tire X 30" tall and improve ET and 60' times. if you're going to stick with the 14X32's i'd go to a 5.86 gear, it won't help your 60' time much but it should improve your ET some, you have to spin that motor pretty high to make it run good. I run a 377" motor with 14X32's and a 5,43 gear, it runs high 1.40's 60 ft and 10.50's @ 125 mph, i'm running around 7400 RPM in the qtr. in a 3250lb car, but i'm also running alcohol.

I just saw that you are racing Tulsa. That is where I race also. I might have seen you there. What does your car look like and where are you from?

Curtis

P.S. It looks like we might get a few more years to race there now.
