:roll: Dude, Hyd lifters do not not set at zero lash. Doesn't matter if your nuts and rockers were bad or not.

Maybe he was trying to hold the valves open to bleed off compression to combat detonation.... :P

remember,this is a big block.you cannot turn them a quarter or half round like a small block.the motor will detonate!!

no,i'm not trolling.i think it's the other way around....no offence And i had great luck with setting the valve lash on 0.

for any hydrolic lifter to function properly they need .040 preload on plunger. that is where 1/2 to 3/4 turn comes in to play.

if it's stock it will work.or on a small block.just ask a big block company.or ect.like brodix,or dart(there also small block)or some big machine shops.on a big block the lifters build up more when you rev them up,so if there 1/4 or 1/2 turn it will be like 1 1/2 or something when racing.also roller rockers and poly locks or hex locks are important.
